Keeping sensitive data under tight control

When a business deals with sensitive information it’s always important to have comprehensive security and data protection policies in place. All sorts of different businesses, from those in the medical sector and the legal sector, to those in the financial sector and in retail, deal with sensitive information that must be kept under very tight control.

This is why it is often written into the contracts of members of staff that they have a duty to uphold standards when it comes to data protection, but there are also practical measures that often have to be put in place to reinforce those operational measures. Access control systems are the answer for a lot of companies.

Access control systems are all about making sure no unauthorised people have access to the physical space where sensitive information, personal records and so on are actually kept. Just as passwords protect certain information on computer systems, keycodes are used to make sure access to information in the form of hard copies and physical records is limited to those with the authorisation to use them.

Door entry systems let the right people in and keep the wrong people out and they help businesses demonstrate their commitment to responsible data handling.
