Location: Yorkshire – with travel required throughout the UK

Package: £25,000 to £30,000 depending on experience. You will be provided with a company vehicle, laptop, tablet, phone allowance, and will be auto-enrolled into the company pension scheme. 20 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus bank holidays. Hours of work are 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday with 30 minutes for lunch. Standby for call out is paid, and over time can be available.

The Opportunity:

We are looking to recruit a Servicing and Maintenance Engineer for a busy and successful North East based Security Company. The successful candidate with be able to service and maintain Fire detection systems, Intruder, CCTV, nurse call and access control systems, including traffic barriers throughout the UK.

The role is challenging and would suit a talented field engineer that enjoys life on the road and who is looking to further develop their knowledge and range of skills.

You would be required to visit client sites in response to break downs, attend scheduled maintenance and services and carry out small work installations (where necessary) on a variety of systems.

You would liaise with the service administrators on a daily basis and will be required to provide all completed paperwork and certification following the completion of each job. You will also be required to be on the OOH Call out rota.

Candidate Profile:

You must be an all round engineer with strong experience of working with security systems and possess a professional and positive attitude to work. You should have excellent customer service skills and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should have excellent problem solving abilities.

You will need a full UK driving licence and be able to pass an enhanced DBS and security screening check to be considered for this position. This is a permanent position with an immediate start for the right candidate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Servicing and maintaining various fire, intruder, CCTV and access control systems.
  • Working towards and exceeding maintenance and fault finding targets.
  • Demonstrate systems for customers, and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
  • Be part of an On Call Rota for OOH callouts and telephone support.
  • Understanding the clients’ needs and fulfilling all jobs required
  • Any other reasonable requests from management
  • The post holder will ensure the health, safety and welfare of themselves and their team in accordance with the AEL Systems Ltd policies
  • To actively support at all times, company policy and best practice in the area of security, with particular emphasis on the protection of sensitive customer information
  • The post holder will understand the regulatory, fair trading and competition rules relating to their work sufficiently to be able to comply with them, relying on their own knowledge or on their ability to recognise that they will need specialist support.

Requirements for the job:

  • Good communication skills
  • A proven background and experience of working as a service engineer
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of various intruder panels, e.g. Galaxy, Texecom & Scantronic.
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of various fire detection systems e.g. Gent, SMS, Advanced, Kentec.
  • Network/IP based product experience
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of various CCTV Systems e.g. Hikvision CCTV, Avigilon
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of various Access Control Systems, e.g. Paxton, PAC and Avigilon
  • Full driving license
  • 5+ years industry experience
  • Ideally have IPAF, PASMA, CSCS and FIA training, however training will be given.
